And my journey begins...

I've been meaning to start one of these blogs for the longest time and am now just getting around to it. I can't do the Disney College Program without capturing all of the important moments that may happen, which is why I'm so happy I finally created this!

So let's see...I applied for the Disney College Program in mid-February and had my phone interview February 19. I was really nervous because I have never had a phone interview and didn't really know what to expect. Well, my interview was scheduled for 10:30 and at 10:31 my phone rang. It was a blocked number so I knew it must be my interviewer. I took a few deep breaths and answered. My interviewer started with a few general questions about my application...okay that wasn't so bad. After that, she began asking me a bunch of hospitality related customer service questions, since I was applying for Hospitality, Concierge, and Vacation planner. The questions went along the lines of, "What are your expectations when staying at a Disney Resort?", "What do you think the duties of a front desk hostess are?", "Why do you think being a Disney Vacation Planner is so important?" Oh...and I can't forget the most important question they asked..."Why do you want to work for Disney?" Okay, that last question was the worst. It's not that I didn't know why I wanted to work at Disney (there are a million reasons), I just wanted to make sure I gave them an answer that they don't hear every day...something unique.

All in all, the interview went well. The recruiter said "That's wonderful" or "Okay, perfect" after a lot of my answers so I felt pretty good. I was, however, still very nervous because I have heard that Hospitality is a pretty competitive role. A week went by and I started getting antsy. I knew my recruiter had said that it would be 2-3 weeks before I heard back, but I thought...maybe just maybe...something magical will happen (since it is Disney) and I will hear in a week. Well...my wishes didn't quite come true. Howwwwever, 1 week and 5 days later I got my acceptance email for a Hospitality role! I was so excited that I logged on right away and accepted my invitation. My Spring Break started 3 days later and all I could think about the whole time was how excited I was to be working at Disney in the Fall!

So there you have...my application, interview, and acceptance experience. It's quite exciting and now I can officially count down the days until August 11 (my move in date)!!!
